2000 mm One-Piece V24 Rolla-V Tool for Mark-Free Bending
Long press brake tooling presents additional manufacturing challenges when both mark-free bending and high dimensional accuracy are required.
For this application, WYS Machinery manufactured a 2000 mm one-piece V24 Rolla-V tool, typically used for bending 3 mm sheet metal. The Rolla-V structure prevents scratching during bending while protecting the surface of appearance-sensitive workpieces.
Mark-Free Bending with V24 Rolla-V
With a conventional fixed V-die, the sheet slides across the die shoulders as it enters the V-opening. This sliding contact can leave scratches or visible marks on the workpiece.
The Rolla-V structure uses movable supporting elements that move with the sheet during forming, avoiding the damaging sliding contact associated with conventional fixed die shoulders.
For applications where surface appearance is critical, this provides an effective mark-free bending solution.
Why Is a 2000 mm One-Piece Rolla-V Tool More Demanding to Manufacture?
The key feature of this tooling is not simply its length. The complete 2000 mm tool is manufactured as a one-piece structure rather than assembled from multiple short sections.
Maintaining machining accuracy and straightness over a two-meter continuous tool body requires tighter process control than shorter tooling.
WYS Machinery also applies stress-relief treatment to control residual stress after manufacturing. This improves dimensional stability and helps prevent residual stress from affecting the straightness of the long tool during use.
V24 for 3 mm Sheet Metal
This application uses a V24 opening, typically selected for the customer's 3 mm sheet bending requirement.
The appropriate V-opening should always be determined according to material type, sheet thickness, required inside radius, bending angle and forming conditions rather than sheet thickness alone.
Custom Mounting Structures
The Rolla-V tool shown in this application uses a 60 mm wide base mounting structure.
WYS Machinery can redesign the mounting interface according to different press brake and clamping systems. Other configurations can include Single-V, Double-V, TRUMPF Type, WILA Type, BYSTRONIC Type and LVD Type mounting structures.
Customers can provide machine information, tooling interface dimensions and workpiece drawings, and the tooling design can be optimized for the required bending application.
