Description

V12 30° Single-V Press Brake Lower Die for Acute-Angle Bending

This V12 30° press brake lower die uses a single-V structure for sheet metal applications requiring a narrow 30° forming groove.

The illustrated configuration features a 12 mm V-opening, 30° die angle, 90 mm overall height, 75 mm effective height, 25 mm overall width and 19 mm load-bearing section width, with a rated load capacity of 40 ton/m.

The combination of a V12 opening and 30° V-groove makes this lower die suitable for acute-angle air bending, pre-bending and multi-stage forming operations. Compared with smaller V-opening 30° dies, the V12 opening provides additional forming clearance while retaining the narrow angular geometry required for acute forming.

30° V-Groove for Very Acute Forming

The 30° die angle is intended for bending processes that require significantly more angular clearance than conventional 60°, 85°, 88° or 90° lower dies.

Typical applications include:

  • Very acute-angle sheet metal bending
  • Acute-angle air bending
  • Pre-bending operations
  • Multi-stage forming
  • Precision flange bending
  • Hemming preparation
  • Components requiring springback allowance
  • Custom sheet metal forming

The final tooling specification should be selected according to the material grade, sheet thickness, required bending angle, inside radius and workpiece geometry.

V12 Single-V Geometry

The illustrated die combines a 12 mm V-opening with a compact 25 mm overall profile.

Main dimensions include:

  • V12 / 12 mm V-opening
  • 30° die angle
  • 90 mm overall height
  • 75 mm effective height
  • 25 mm overall width
  • 19 mm load-bearing section width
  • 13.5 mm bottom mounting width
  • Approx. R1.5 shoulder radius
  • Approx. R1 V-bottom radius
  • 40 ton/m rated load capacity

The die angle, effective height, shoulder geometry, edge dimensions and mounting profile can all be customized according to the required bending application.

Custom Effective Tool Height

The illustrated configuration has an effective working height of 75 mm.

The effective height is not limited to this dimension. WYS Machinery can manufacture different effective heights according to the customer's:

  • Press brake configuration
  • Upper tooling height
  • Machine daylight
  • Clamping system
  • Existing tooling combination

The overall height and effective working height can therefore be coordinated with the customer's complete press brake tooling setup.
