Description

V8 35° Single-V Press Brake Lower Die for Sharp Acute-Angle Bending

This V8 press brake lower die is designed with a compact single-V structure for sheet metal forming applications requiring a very acute 35° groove.

The illustrated configuration features an 8 mm V-opening, 35° die angle, 90 mm overall height and 18 mm body width, with a rated load capacity of 65 ton/m.

The combination of the V8 opening and 35° V-groove geometry makes this lower die suitable for sharp acute-angle forming, pre-bending and multi-stage bending processes where a much narrower included angle is required than with conventional 60°, 85°, 88° or 90° dies.

The compact V-opening also makes it suitable for precision applications where controlled forming geometry and limited lower-tool space are important.

35° V-Groove for Very Acute Forming

The 35° die angle provides a narrow included angle for applications requiring aggressive pre-forming or sharp acute-angle bending.

Typical uses include:

  • Sharp acute-angle air bending
  • Pre-bending before hemming or subsequent forming
  • Multi-stage bending operations
  • Precision flange forming
  • Components requiring large springback allowance
  • Customized acute-angle sheet metal parts

The final tooling geometry should be selected according to the material type, sheet thickness, required bend angle and workpiece design.

V8 Single-V Die Geometry

The illustrated lower die combines an 8 mm V-opening with an 18 mm body width, providing a compact and stable support structure around the forming zone.

Main dimensions include:

  • V8 / 8 mm V-opening
  • 35° die angle
  • 90 mm overall height
  • 75 mm effective height
  • 18 mm body width
  • 14 mm bottom mounting width
  • Approx. R1 shoulder radius
  • 65 ton/m load capacity

The die angle, shoulder geometry and surrounding edge dimensions can also be customized according to the required bending process.

Custom Effective Tool Height

The illustrated model has a standard effective working height of 75 mm.

The effective height can also be manufactured according to the customer's:

  • Press brake configuration
  • Upper tooling height
  • Machine daylight
  • Clamping system
  • Existing tooling combination

The overall tool height and effective working height can therefore be coordinated as part of the complete tooling design.
