Rolla-V Tool for Mark-Free Sheet Metal Bending

Mark-Free Bending with Rolla-V Tool

urface marks and scratches are a common challenge when bending stainless steel, aluminum and other appearance-sensitive sheet metal. Conventional V-dies can create sliding friction between the workpiece and die shoulders during bending, leaving visible indentation lines or scratches on the finished part.

The Rolla-V Tool provides an effective solution for applications where surface quality is important. Its movable supporting elements rotate with the sheet during the bending process, helping to reduce sliding friction and minimize contact marks on the workpiece surface.

The images shown here present one of the Rolla-V tooling samples manufactured by WYS Machinery, including the tooling structure, installation on a press brake, actual bending operation and the resulting formed sheet metal part.

Key Application Benefits

  • Helps minimize bending marks and surface scratches
  • Reduces sliding friction between the sheet and lower die
  • Suitable for stainless steel, aluminum and other surface-sensitive materials
  • Helps improve the appearance quality of finished sheet metal parts
  • Suitable for applications requiring clean and consistent bending surfaces
  • Available for different sheet thicknesses and bending requirements

Custom Rolla-V Tooling Solutions

WYS Machinery can manufacture Rolla-V press brake tooling according to specific bending requirements. Different V-openings, tool heights, working lengths and mounting configurations can be customized to suit various press brake machines and sheet metal applications.

Tool dimensions and configurations can also be developed according to customer drawings, workpiece dimensions, material thickness and required bending profiles.

For sheet metal components where conventional V-dies may leave unacceptable bending marks, customized Rolla-V tooling provides a practical solution for achieving cleaner bending surfaces while maintaining reliable forming performance.
