Description

4-Groove V16 / V22 / V35 / V50 Multi-V Press Brake Lower Die

This multi-V press brake lower die integrates four independent V-grooves into a compact 60 × 60 mm tooling body.

The illustrated configuration provides four different V-opening sizes:

V16 · V22 · V35 · V50

Each V-groove is located on a different working face of the die body, allowing the required opening to be selected by repositioning the lower die.

With a rated load capacity of 100 ton/m, this multi-V structure provides a broad range of forming options within one tooling section.

The smaller V16 and V22 openings provide narrower forming widths for applications requiring smaller natural inside bend radii, while the larger V35 and V50 openings offer substantially greater forming clearance for thicker material and larger bend-radius requirements.

Compared with using four completely separate single-V lower dies, integrating four V-openings into one tooling body can simplify tooling management, reduce the number of separate dies required and provide greater flexibility in mixed-production bending environments.

The V16 / V22 / V35 / V50 combination shown here represents one available configuration only. The number of V-grooves, V-opening sizes, groove geometry, overall dimensions, working-face arrangement and mounting structure can all be customized according to customer requirements.

Four-Face Multi-V Structure

The defining feature of this lower die is its four-face multi-V design.

Instead of arranging multiple grooves on one working surface, the V16, V22, V35 and V50 openings are distributed around different faces of the tooling body.

When another V-opening is required, the lower die can be repositioned so that the selected groove becomes the active working surface.

This structure makes it possible to integrate:

V16 → smaller forming range
V22 → intermediate forming range
V35 → larger forming range
V50 → largest forming range in this configuration

within one compact 60 × 60 mm lower die.

This is fundamentally different from a Double-V / 2V die, which contains only two working V-grooves.

V16 / V22 / V35 / V50 Working Openings

Each V-opening provides a different bending range.

V16 Opening

The V16 groove provides a relatively narrow forming width and can be selected where a smaller natural inside bend radius and reduced V-opening are required.

V22 Opening

The V22 groove provides additional forming clearance while maintaining a moderate V-opening for general sheet metal bending.

V35 Opening

The larger V35 opening provides increased forming clearance and is suitable for applications involving thicker material or larger natural bend radii.

V50 Opening

The V50 groove provides the largest forming clearance within this tooling configuration and can be selected for thicker material, larger inside bend radii and applications where a wide V-opening is required.

The actual V-opening should always be selected according to the material grade, sheet thickness, tensile strength, required inside bend radius, flange geometry and bending method.

Advantages of the 4-Groove Multi-V Design

The four-groove structure provides several practical advantages.

Four Forming Ranges in One Tool

V16, V22, V35 and V50 are integrated into one lower die body, providing four different V-opening options.

Reduced Number of Separate Dies

Instead of storing and preparing four individual single-V dies, one multi-V tool can provide multiple bending ranges.

Faster Production Changeover

When a different V-opening is required, the appropriate working face can be selected rather than changing to a completely separate tooling body.

Flexible Mixed Production

The wide V-opening range makes the die suitable for production involving different sheet thicknesses, materials and component specifications.

Efficient Tooling Management

Integrating multiple grooves into one die reduces the number of separate tooling sections that need to be stored and managed.
