Description
V6 / V10 30° Double-V Press Brake Lower Die
This 30° double-V press brake lower die, also referred to as a 2V acute-angle lower die, combines V6 and V10 openings within a single tooling body.
Both V-grooves feature a 30° die angle, making this lower die suitable for acute-angle bending applications where a narrower forming angle is required than with conventional 85° or 88° lower dies.
The illustrated configuration has an overall width of 50 mm, an overall height of 46 mm, and a rated load capacity of 60 ton/m.
The integrated V6 and V10 grooves provide two V-opening options within one lower die. The V6 opening is suitable for smaller-opening bending requirements, while the V10 groove provides additional forming clearance for applications requiring a wider V-opening.
The 30° groove geometry makes this tooling particularly useful for acute-angle forming, pre-bending, over-bending for springback compensation and multi-stage bending processes, depending on the workpiece and forming sequence.
The illustrated version uses a plug-in mounting system. The V-opening combination, die angle, overall dimensions and mounting structure can all be customized according to customer requirements.

30° Acute-Angle Double-V Configuration
Unlike conventional 85° or 88° lower dies, this tooling uses 30° V-grooves to provide additional forming space for acute-angle bending processes.
The narrow groove angle can be useful when the workpiece needs to be bent beyond its final target angle during:
- Acute-angle forming
- Pre-bending
- Springback compensation
- Multi-stage bending
- Hemming preparation
- Special sheet metal forming processes
The final bending result depends on the punch angle, material properties, sheet thickness, V-opening, forming force and press brake settings.
The V6 / V10 combination shown here is one reference configuration only. Other acute-angle V-opening combinations can be manufactured according to the customer's application.
V6 and V10 Working Openings
The two integrated V-grooves provide different forming characteristics within one lower tool.
The V6 opening offers a smaller forming opening for thin-sheet and small-radius acute-angle applications.
The V10 opening provides additional forming clearance and can be selected when a larger V-opening is required for the material thickness, bend radius or forming sequence.
This double-V arrangement provides greater flexibility than a single-opening lower die when multiple acute-angle forming conditions are used in production.
Typical Applications
This V6 / V10 30° double-V lower die is suitable for:
- Acute-angle sheet metal bending
- Pre-bending before final forming
- Over-bending for springback compensation
- Multi-stage bending processes
- Hemming preparation
- Precision thin sheet fabrication
- Stainless steel bending
- Carbon steel bending
- Electrical enclosure manufacturing
- Metal cabinet fabrication
- Special sheet metal components
- Production requiring two acute-angle V-opening sizes
The appropriate V-opening and forming angle should always be selected according to the material, sheet thickness, required inside radius and complete bending process.
Plug-In Lower Die Mounting System
The illustrated product uses a plug-in lower die mounting system.
The bottom profile engages with the corresponding lower die holder or press brake table interface to provide accurate positioning and support during the bending process.
The plug-in structure shown here is only one reference mounting configuration.
WYS Machinery can customize the lower die interface according to:
- Press brake model
- Existing lower die holder
- Existing tooling system
- Customer tooling drawing
- Existing die sample
- Required mounting dimensions
The complete lower die cross-section can therefore be adapted to different machine and tooling systems.
Custom 30° Double-V Press Brake Dies
WYS Machinery manufactures both standard and customized 30° double-V press brake lower dies for different acute-angle bending applications.
The V6 / V10 configuration shown on this page represents one available tooling design rather than a fixed product limitation.
Customers can customize:
V-opening combinations, die angles, overall height, overall width, shoulder geometry, V-bottom geometry, load capacity, tool length, segmented length, bottom mounting profile and positioning structure.
For special bending applications, customers can provide:
- Workpiece drawings
- Sheet thickness
- Material grade
- Required bending angle
- Press brake model
- Existing tooling drawings or samples
Our engineering team can evaluate the application and recommend a suitable tooling configuration.
Compatible Press Brake Tooling Systems
WYS Machinery can manufacture double-V and multi-V lower dies for different press brake tooling standards and machine configurations.
Available configurations include:
AMADA / Promecam Type, TRUMPF Type, WILA Type, LVD Type, Bystronic Type, European Type and other customized press brake tooling systems.
The plug-in mounting structure shown on this page is one reference design only.
