85° R0.25 High Press Brake Upper Punch for Higher Closed-Profile Bending – 150 mm Height, 6 mm Load-Bearing Section, 50 Ton/m

$80.00$86.00

High 85° R0.25 press brake upper punch designed for closed-profile bending applications requiring greater forming height. With a 150 mm overall height, 27 mm total width, 6 mm load-bearing section, and 50 ton/m capacity, this punch provides extended working reach compared with a 120 mm version and is better suited for workpieces with slightly higher closed bending profiles.

Typical Applications

This 85° R0.25 high press brake upper punch is designed for workpieces requiring slightly higher closed bending heights than can be comfortably achieved with a standard 120 mm upper punch.

Typical applications include:

  • Higher closed-profile bending
  • Deep closed-section bending
  • Small box-shaped components
  • Narrow channel bending
  • Deep U-shaped profiles
  • Small brackets with high flanges
  • Electrical enclosures
  • Machinery components
  • Precision sheet metal parts
  • Narrow and deep profiles
  • Multi-step bending
  • Complex sheet metal forming
  • CNC press brake bending

Higher Closed-Profile Bending

The most important advantage of this tooling is its 150 mm overall height.

Compared with the 120 mm version, the additional 30 mm of tooling height provides a greater working reach and makes the punch more suitable for workpieces with a slightly higher closed profile.

When bending a closed or semi-closed component, the height of the tooling can become an important limitation. If the punch is too short, the tooling may not provide the required access or working geometry for the workpiece.

The 150 mm configuration provides additional tooling reach, making it a better choice for applications where the closed bending height is higher than that of conventional 120 mm tooling.

Narrow 6 mm Load-Bearing Section

The 6 mm load-bearing section provides a relatively narrow working area.

This configuration is particularly useful for:

  • Small bending sections
  • Narrow flanges
  • Compact profiles
  • Small closed openings
  • Precision sheet metal components

The narrow working section helps the punch access more restricted bending areas while maintaining the advantages of the taller 150 mm structure.

The 50 ton/m load capacity is appropriate for applications where the customer needs a higher punch but does not require the higher load capacity of wider tooling.

The tooling can be manufactured for applications involving major press brake brands and tooling systems, including Amada, TRUMPF, LVD, Bystronic, and WILA, subject to the specific machine and tooling interface.

Product Details & Manufacturing Quality

The punch is manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel, providing high strength, toughness, wear resistance, and durability for repeated press brake bending operations.

The working section is heat treated to approximately HRC 54 ± 2, helping maintain dimensional stability and wear resistance during continuous production.

The R0.25 tip radius is designed for applications requiring a relatively small inside bend radius and precise forming.

The combination of 150 mm overall height and 6 mm load-bearing section creates a specialized tooling configuration for higher closed-profile bending.

Compared with the 120 mm R0.25 version, the additional 30 mm height provides greater reach and makes this configuration more suitable for higher closed bending profiles.

The 6 mm load-bearing section also keeps the working area compact, making it useful for smaller and more restricted bending geometries.

Actual allowable bending force should always be evaluated according to the material type, sheet thickness, bending length, die opening, bending method, and press brake specifications.

Standard & Custom Press Brake Tooling

We manufacture standard press brake punches and dies as well as customized tooling for special bending requirements.

For closed-profile components, tooling height, working clearance, tip radius, and load-bearing geometry can all affect the final bending result.

If a 120 mm punch is not sufficient for your workpiece, the 150 mm high configuration can provide additional working reach.

Customers can send us their:

  • 2D workpiece drawings
  • 3D models
  • Bending drawings
  • Existing tooling drawings
  • Machine specifications
  • Workpiece samples

Our engineering team can provide a free press brake tooling design service and recommend the appropriate punch and die configuration.

Customization options include:

  • Overall tooling height
  • Total tooling width
  • Load-bearing section width
  • Tip width
  • Tip radius
  • Punch angle
  • Tooling length
  • Clearance and relief areas
  • Closed-profile bending structures
  • Gooseneck structures
  • Special-shaped punches
  • Machine-specific tooling dimensions
  • Customized upper and lower tooling sets

We can also evaluate closed-profile height, punch access, workpiece interference, bending sequence, flange clearance, and required bending force before production.

This allows us to provide a custom press brake tooling solution based on the actual geometry of the customer's workpiece.
