Description
The WYS 30° V12 Bystronic-type single-V die is a precision lower tool designed for general air bending, acute-angle forming and pre-bending applications. It has a 120 mm overall height, a 100 mm effective working height, a 12 mm V-opening and a maximum load capacity of 30 ton/m.
Compared with the previous V6 model, this V12 die provides a wider groove for bending relatively thicker material or producing a larger natural internal bend radius. The wider opening also reduces the bending force required for the same sheet thickness, although the final tooling selection must always be based on the material, thickness, flange length and required bend radius.
Its 30° groove angle allows the workpiece to be formed beyond 90°. This makes the die suitable for acute-angle bending, springback compensation and pre-bending before a subsequent flattening or hemming process.
Manufactured from high-strength 42CrMo alloy steel, the die is precision-machined and heat-treated to provide accurate V-opening geometry, stable installation and repeatable bending performance.

The appropriate sheet thickness depends on the material grade, tensile strength, punch radius, required internal radius, flange dimension and forming method. The calculated bending force must remain within the rated 30 ton/m capacity of the die.
Product Details / Manufacturing Quality
The 12 mm V-opening provides more forming space than the previous V6 version. For the same material, a wider V-opening generally produces a larger natural internal radius and requires less bending force. It can therefore accommodate a broader range of sheet thicknesses where a V6 groove may be too narrow.
Its 30° groove angle provides sufficient clearance for acute-angle forming. The die can be used to overbend material for springback compensation or create an acute pre-bend before the workpiece is flattened with suitable hemming tooling.
The die has a total height of 120 mm and an effective working height of 100 mm. This elevated working surface supports compatible press brake setups requiring a taller lower tool.
Manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel, the die offers strength, toughness and resistance to deformation. Precision machining and controlled heat treatment help maintain accurate groove geometry, consistent alignment and reliable bending repeatability.
