Description
V64 85° Stepped-Base Single-V Press Brake Lower Die
This V64 85° press brake lower die uses a single-V working groove combined with a stepped lower mounting structure, providing a stable lower-tool configuration for larger V-opening sheet metal bending applications.
The illustrated model features:
V-Opening: V64 / 64 mm
Die Angle: 85°
Overall Height: 75 mm
Main Body Width: 80 mm
Bottom Base Width: 60 mm
Stepped Section Height: 20 mm
Groove Shoulder Radius: R3
V-Bottom Radius: R8
Rated Load Capacity: 100 ton/m
The lower mounting profile is structurally different from the narrow plug-in mounting configuration used on many other single-V dies. Its 80 mm upper body transitions to a 60 mm wide stepped base, creating a distinct mounting geometry for compatible lower-die holders and machine arrangements.
The dimensions shown represent one available configuration only. WYS Machinery can manufacture different die cross-sections according to the customer's machine, tooling holder and workpiece requirements.
V64 Opening for Large Forming Clearance
The 64 mm V-opening provides a large working zone for sheet metal bending.
Compared with smaller V32, V40 and V50 lower dies, the V64 opening provides additional forming clearance and is suitable for applications requiring:
- A larger forming space
- A larger expected inside bend radius
- Greater workpiece clearance
- Wider flange and sheet geometry
- Larger V-opening air-bending applications
The correct V-opening should always be selected according to the material grade, sheet thickness, desired bend radius, minimum flange size and required bending force.
85° V-Groove for Precision Air Bending
The illustrated lower die uses an 85° V-groove, suitable for precision air-bending applications where additional angular allowance may be required to compensate for springback.
The actual final bend angle depends on several factors, including:
- Material type
- Sheet thickness
- Punch angle
- V-opening
- Material springback
- Inside bend radius
- Flange dimensions
- Bending force
The 85° configuration is not a fixed limitation. Different die angles can also be manufactured according to the customer's forming requirements.
Stepped-Base Mounting Structure
A key feature of this lower die is its stepped-base structure.
The illustrated geometry includes:
Main Body Width: 80 mm
Bottom Base Width: 60 mm
Stepped Section Height: 20 mm
This differs from a typical plug-in lower die, which normally uses a narrow mounting shank beneath the main tool body.
The stepped-base structure provides a broader and more substantial mounting profile and can be adapted according to the lower-die holder or machine interface.
The base width, step height, body width and positioning geometry can all be customized.
R3 Shoulder Radius and R8 V-Bottom Radius
The illustrated V64 groove includes two clearly defined radius features:
Shoulder Radius: R3
V-Bottom Radius: R8
These radii influence the geometry around the working groove and can be modified when different forming conditions require alternative edge or bottom-radius geometry.
The groove radii are not limited to the values shown.
