Description
Extra-High 60° Press Brake Punch with High Load Capacity
This 60° R5 press brake upper punch combines a tall tooling profile with relatively high load capacity.
With a 175 mm overall height and 145 mm effective working height, this model provides substantially more working reach than compact 60° punches. The extended-height structure is useful when additional distance is required between the press brake clamping system and the punch tip, particularly for deeper or larger workpieces.
At the same time, the punch retains a rated capacity of 110 ton/m, giving it considerably more tooling strength than many special-clearance or narrow-section punches.
The R5 tip radius provides a larger working radius than R0.8 or R1 punches and is suitable for applications where a larger bend radius, broader contact area, or reduced localized stress is preferred.
This creates a distinctive combination:
Extra Height + R5 Tip Radius + High Load Capacity
which makes this model particularly suitable for demanding industrial sheet metal bending applications.

Typical Applications
This extra-high 60° punch is especially suitable for bending applications requiring more working reach while still demanding substantial tooling strength.
Typical applications include:
- Deep-profile sheet metal bending
- Large workpiece bending
- Acute-angle bending
- Controlled overbending
- Higher-force bending applications
- Stainless steel fabrication
- Carbon steel bending
- Machinery components
- Industrial equipment structures
- Large electrical cabinets
- Metal enclosures
- Structural brackets
- Equipment panels
- Heavy fabricated components
- Customized sheet metal parts
175 mm Height Provides Increased Working Reach
The most obvious structural feature of this model is its 175 mm overall height.
Its effective working height reaches 145 mm, providing considerably more reach than standard-height punches.
This additional height can be useful when:
- The workpiece has a deeper profile
- A larger distance is required below the clamping system
- Existing flanges require additional vertical space
- Larger components need increased tooling reach
- The bending sequence requires a taller punch
Compared with shorter 60° punches, this model is therefore better positioned as an:
Extra-High / Extended-Reach Press Brake Punch
rather than simply another 60° precision punch.
Its semantic logic is:
175 mm Tooling Height → 145 mm Working Height → Increased Reach → Deeper / Larger Workpiece Bending
High Load Capacity Despite the Increased Height
Tall press brake punches generally place greater structural demands on the tooling because bending forces are transmitted through a longer tool body.
This model is nevertheless rated at 110 ton/m, providing a strong combination of extended tooling height and load capacity.
That makes it suitable for customers who need:
more working height without sacrificing too much tooling strength.
Compared with the previous 97 mm-high R5 punch rated at 120 ton/m, the distinction becomes very clear:
- Short R5 punch → maximum rigidity and very high load capacity
- Tall R5 punch → more working reach while still retaining high load capacity
This helps prevent the two product pages from competing for exactly the same search intent.
R5 Tip Radius for Larger Bend Radius Applications
The R5 punch tip radius creates a significantly larger contact radius than R0.8 or R1 tooling.
Depending on material, thickness, V-die opening, and bending method, a larger punch radius can be beneficial when the application requires:
- A larger inside bend radius
- Reduced localized pressure
- Lower risk of marking or excessive indentation
- Improved forming of thicker materials
- Smoother material flow around the bend
The final internal bend radius is determined by the complete bending system rather than the punch radius alone.
Material thickness, tensile strength, V opening, bending method, and springback should all be considered.
Punch Angle and Tip Radius Can Be Customized
这一点非常值得强化,因为你这次明确提出了:刀尖圆弧、模具角度和尺寸都可以按照客户要求定制。
The 60° / R5 configuration shown on this page is only one example of our manufacturing capability.
We can manufacture punches with different:
- Punch angles
- Tip radii
- Tip widths
- Overall heights
- Effective working heights
- Tooling widths
- Tooling lengths
- Body profiles
- Mounting interfaces
For example, the tooling angle can be adjusted according to the customer's required bending process, while the punch tip radius can be selected according to material thickness, required bend radius, and forming method.
Customers are therefore not limited to:
60° + R5
Other angle and radius combinations can be manufactured according to the actual application.
One Displayed Tool – Multiple Press Brake Tooling Systems

Our engineering team can then adapt the tooling geometry and mounting interface accordingly.
Product Details & Manufacturing Quality
This 60° R5 upper punch is manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel, selected for its combination of strength, toughness, and wear resistance.
The working area is heat treated to approximately HRC 54 ± 2, helping maintain the punch profile during repeated production.
The 175 mm overall height provides substantial working reach, while the tool body is designed to maintain sufficient rigidity for its 110 ton/m rated capacity.
The R5 punch tip is precision-machined to maintain consistent geometry along the tooling length and help improve bending consistency.
Actual allowable bending force should always be calculated according to:
- Material tensile strength
- Sheet thickness
- Bending length
- V-die opening
- Bending method
- Tooling length
- Machine capacity
