Description

10-Groove V6 / V12 / V15 / V16 / V25 / V30 / V40 / V48 / V80 / V100 Multi-V Press Brake Lower Die

This multi-V press brake lower die integrates 10 independent working V-grooves into a 140 × 140 mm tooling body.

The illustrated configuration contains ten different V-opening sizes:

V6 · V12 · V15 · V16 · V25 · V30 · V40 · V48 · V80 · V100

Each physical groove uses a different V-opening size, providing a very broad forming range within one lower tooling body.

The illustrated die has an overall cross-section of 140 × 140 mm and a rated load capacity of 100 ton/m.

The smaller V6, V12, V15 and V16 grooves provide compact forming openings, while V25, V30, V40 and V48 extend the range into medium and larger V-opening applications. The large V80 and V100 grooves provide substantially greater forming clearance for applications requiring wider die openings and larger natural inside bend radii.

The V100 groove shown on the drawing uses an 85° die angle. Other groove angles can be selected independently according to the customer's actual bending process.

As with other custom multi-V tooling, the 140 × 140 mm external dimensions do not define one fixed V-groove configuration. Another die with the same external dimensions can be manufactured with completely different V-opening sizes, groove locations, angles or bottom geometries.

The configuration shown here therefore represents one available manufacturing example rather than a fixed catalog limitation.

10-Groove Multi-V Structure

The defining feature of this product is its 10-groove multi-V configuration.

Unlike designs that repeat certain V-opening sizes at several working positions, this configuration uses:

10 physical grooves = 10 different V-opening sizes.

The working sequence ranges from:

V6 → V12 → V15 → V16 → V25 → V30 → V40 → V48 → V80 → V100

This provides one of the broadest V-opening ranges among the multi-V lower dies shown in the WYS product range.

The appropriate working groove can be selected according to the sheet thickness, material strength, required inside bend radius and forming process.

Wide V6 to V100 Working Range

A major feature of this lower die is the large difference between its smallest and largest V-opening.

Small V-Openings

V6 / V12 / V15 / V16

These openings provide relatively narrow forming widths for applications requiring smaller natural inside bend radii and thinner sheet material.

Medium V-Openings

V25 / V30 / V40 / V48

These sizes provide progressively greater forming clearance and cover a broad range of general sheet metal fabrication requirements.

Large V-Openings

V80 / V100

These larger grooves provide substantially greater clearance and extend the tooling range toward thicker sheet material and applications requiring larger natural inside bend radii.

The correct V-opening should always be selected according to the actual material, sheet thickness, tensile strength, desired radius, flange geometry and bending method.

V100 85° Working Groove

The largest V-opening shown in this configuration is V100, and the drawing identifies this groove with an 85° angle.

The V100 groove provides a wide lower-die opening for bending requirements where a much larger forming clearance is needed.

Its inclusion within the same tooling body as much smaller V6, V12 and V16 grooves illustrates the broad working range that can be achieved with a large multi-V lower die.

The presence of one 85° groove does not mean every groove in a custom multi-V die must use the same angle.

Individual working positions can be manufactured with different angles when required.

Individual Groove Geometry Can Be Customized

A multi-V lower die is not defined only by its V-opening widths.

WYS Machinery can also customize:

  • V-groove angle
  • V-bottom radius
  • Shoulder radius
  • Groove depth
  • Groove position
  • Working-face arrangement
  • Overall die geometry

This allows different grooves within the same tooling body to be designed for different bending conditions.

Customers are therefore not limited to the exact V6 / V12 / V15 / V16 / V25 / V30 / V40 / V48 / V80 / V100 arrangement shown here.

Same External Size, Different Multi-V Configuration

Different multi-V lower dies can share the same external dimensions while providing completely different bending capabilities.

Two 140 × 140 mm multi-V dies may differ in:

  • Total number of grooves
  • V-opening sizes
  • Groove positions
  • Groove angles
  • Repeated or unique V-openings
  • V-bottom geometry
  • Shoulder geometry
  • Working-face arrangement

The external body size should therefore not be treated as the only defining specification.

The final tooling configuration should be developed according to the customer's production range.

Advantages of This 10-Groove Multi-V Die

Ten Different Forming Ranges

Every physical V-groove provides a different opening size.

Very Wide V-Opening Coverage

The V6-to-V100 configuration integrates very small, medium and very large V-openings in one tooling body.

Reduced Separate Lower-Die Inventory

Multiple working ranges can be integrated into one multi-V die rather than requiring many individual single-V lower dies.

Flexible Mixed Production

Different working faces can be selected for different sheet thicknesses and bending specifications.

Fully Customizable Geometry

The V-opening size, angle, radius, groove position and overall die cross-section can all be adapted to the customer's requirements.

Typical Applications

This 140 × 140 mm multi-V lower die is suitable for:

  • General sheet metal fabrication

Custom Multi-V Press Brake Dies

WYS Machinery manufactures custom multi-V press brake lower dies according to actual bending requirements.

The illustrated 140 × 140 mm, 10-groove V6 / V12 / V15 / V16 / V25 / V30 / V40 / V48 / V80 / V100 configuration represents one manufacturing example only.

Customers can customize:

number of physical V-grooves, V-opening sizes, repeated or unique groove combinations, individual groove angles, groove positions, V-bottom radii, shoulder geometry, working-face arrangement, overall height, overall width, load capacity, tooling length, segmentation and mounting structure.

Customers can provide workpiece drawings, sheet thickness ranges, material specifications, required bending angles, required inside radii, existing tooling drawings or press brake information for technical evaluation.

Compatible Press Brake Tooling Systems

WYS Machinery can manufacture multi-V lower dies for different press brake tooling standards and machine configurations.

Available configurations include:

AMADA / Promecam Type, TRUMPF Type, WILA Type, LVD Type, Bystronic Type, European Type and other customized press brake tooling systems.

The 140 × 140 mm structure shown here represents one reference configuration only.

The number of grooves, V-opening sizes, groove angles, radii, positions, overall dimensions and mounting interface can all be adapted according to the customer's existing machine.

WYS's indexed lower-die content already states that V-opening, die angle, bottom radius, dimensions and mounting interface can be customized, while Google currently associates WYS with multi-V dies through its Press Brake Tooling pages.
