Description

4-Groove V10 / V22 / V35 60° Multi-V Press Brake Lower Die

This multi-V press brake lower die integrates four working V-grooves into a compact 60 × 60 mm tooling body.

The illustrated configuration contains:

  • Two V10 openings
  • One V22 opening
  • One V35 opening
  • Four physical V-grooves in total
  • Three different V-opening sizes

All four grooves shown in the drawing use a 60° die angle, and the rated load capacity of this tooling configuration is 70 ton/m.

Each V-groove is positioned on a different working face. The required opening can be selected by repositioning the die so that the appropriate face becomes the active bending surface.

Although this die has the same 60 × 60 mm overall cross-section as other multi-V tooling configurations, the groove sizes and angles can be completely different. This illustrates an important advantage of custom multi-V tooling: the die body does not determine one fixed V-opening combination.

The number of grooves, V-opening sizes, groove angles, working-face arrangement, overall dimensions and complete die geometry can all be designed according to the customer's sheet thickness range, bending radii and production requirements.

Four-Face Multi-V Structure

The die uses a four-face multi-V design, with one V-groove positioned on each working face.

The illustrated configuration provides:

V35 on one working face
V22 on another working face
V10 on each of the remaining two working faces

This creates four usable V-grooves within one compact tooling body.

When another V-opening is required, the lower die can be repositioned so that the selected working face is oriented for bending.

This type of design allows several bending conditions to be covered with one multi-V tool rather than requiring a separate single-V lower die for each opening.

V10 / V22 / V35 Working Openings

The three V-opening sizes provide different forming ranges.

V10 Opening

Two V10 grooves are incorporated into this configuration. The relatively small V-opening is suitable for applications requiring a narrower forming width and smaller natural inside bend radius.

V22 Opening

The V22 groove provides greater forming clearance and an intermediate bending range between V10 and V35.

V35 Opening

The V35 groove provides the largest V-opening in this configuration, offering additional forming clearance for applications requiring a larger natural inside radius or wider die opening.

The actual working V-opening should always be selected according to the material grade, sheet thickness, tensile strength, required bend radius, flange geometry and forming method.

60° Multi-V Groove Geometry

An important difference between this product and many conventional 85° multi-V dies is its 60° groove geometry.

The 60° V-grooves provide a sharper tooling geometry and can be selected for forming processes requiring a more acute die angle or additional over-bending capability.

The required groove angle does not need to be identical across every multi-V design.

Depending on the customer's bending requirements, WYS Machinery can manufacture multi-V lower dies with different:

V-opening sizes · groove angles · working-face combinations · cross-sections

The illustrated 60° configuration is therefore one example of the available design flexibility.

Same 60 × 60 mm Body, Different V-Groove Configurations

Multi-V lower dies with the same external dimensions can have substantially different internal tooling geometry.

For example, a 60 × 60 mm multi-V die can be configured with one set of V-opening sizes for general bending, while another 60 × 60 mm die can use completely different V-openings and angles for a different sheet thickness range or forming process.

This means that overall die dimensions alone do not define the bending capability of a multi-V tool.

The final configuration should be determined according to:

  • Required sheet thickness range
  • Material grade
  • Required inside bend radii
  • Bend angles
  • Available forming force
  • Press brake configuration
  • Production mix
  • Customer tooling preferences

This flexibility allows the multi-V tooling geometry to be matched directly to the customer's production requirements.

Advantages of Multi-V Press Brake Dies

A multi-V lower die can integrate several forming options within one tooling body.

This provides practical advantages including:

  • Multiple V-openings in one lower die
  • Reduced number of separate tooling sections
  • Faster changeover between bending requirements
  • More flexible mixed-production bending
  • Efficient tooling storage and management
  • Ability to combine different V-opening sizes and groove angles
  • Custom configuration according to the customer's sheet thickness range

Typical Applications

This 60 × 60 mm 60° multi-V lower die is suitable for:

  • General sheet metal fabrication
  • Multi-stage forming
  • Mixed-thickness production
  • Carbon steel bending
  • Stainless steel bending
  • Electrical enclosure production
  • Control cabinet manufacturing
  • Machinery covers and housings
  • Industrial sheet metal components
  • Production requiring several V-opening sizes
  • Applications requiring 60° groove geometry
  • Small-batch and high-mix manufacturing

Custom Multi-V Press Brake Dies

WYS Machinery manufactures custom multi-V press brake lower dies according to the actual bending process rather than restricting customers to fixed catalog combinations.

The illustrated 60 × 60 mm, 4-groove V10 / V22 / V35, 60° configuration is one manufacturing example only.

Customers can customize:

number of V-grooves, V-opening sizes, repeated or different V-opening combinations, groove angles, V-bottom geometry, shoulder geometry, working-face arrangement, overall height, overall width, load capacity, tool length, segmentation and mounting structure.

Multi-V dies with the same external dimensions can therefore be produced with entirely different working groove configurations.

For special applications, customers can provide the workpiece drawing, sheet thickness range, material grade, required bending angles, bend radii, press brake model or existing tooling drawing. Our engineering team can evaluate the application and develop a suitable multi-V configuration.

Compatible Press Brake Tooling Systems

WYS Machinery manufactures multi-V lower dies for different press brake tooling standards and machine configurations.

Available configurations include:

AMADA / Promecam Type, TRUMPF Type, WILA Type, LVD Type, Bystronic Type, European Type and other customized press brake tooling systems.

The 60 × 60 mm profile shown here is one reference structure only.

The V-opening combination, groove angle, overall dimensions, working-face geometry and mounting interface can all be customized according to the customer's existing press brake.

WYS's current website already establishes multi-V dies as part of its press brake tooling capability, while indexed lower-die pages explicitly state that V-openings, angles, dimensions and mounting structures can be customized.
