Description

60° Precision Press Brake Punch for Acute-Angle Bending

This 60° R1 press brake upper punch is designed for precision sheet metal bending applications requiring a sharper tooling angle than conventional 85°, 88°, or 90° punches.

The tooling features a 120 mm overall height, 90 mm effective working height, 27 mm overall width, R1 tip radius, and 6 mm tip width. With a rated load capacity of 80 ton/m, it provides a practical combination of compact tip geometry, tooling strength, and precision for CNC press brake bending applications.

The 60° punch angle makes this tooling suitable for acute-angle forming and applications where additional overbending may be required to compensate for material springback.

Rather than being limited to the exact configuration shown on this page, WYS can manufacture 60° punches in different heights, widths, tip radii, tip widths, mounting interfaces, and special profiles according to the customer's machine and workpiece.

Typical Applications

This 60 degree press brake punch is suitable for a wide range of precision sheet metal fabrication applications, especially where a sharper punch geometry is required.

Typical applications include:

  • Acute-angle sheet metal bending
  • Precision CNC press brake bending
  • Overbending for springback compensation
  • Stainless steel sheet bending
  • Mild steel and carbon steel bending
  • Electrical cabinets and enclosures
  • Sheet metal housings
  • Industrial equipment panels
  • Machinery components
  • Precision brackets
  • Structural sheet metal parts
  • Customized sheet metal components
  • Multi-step bending operations

Why Use a 60° Press Brake Punch?

Compared with conventional 85°, 88°, or 90° upper punches, a 60° press brake punch provides a sharper tooling angle.

This can be particularly useful when the bending process requires an acute angle or when the workpiece must be intentionally overbent before springback brings it closer to the required final angle.

The R1 tip radius and 6 mm tip width provide a relatively compact working geometry, making this configuration suitable for precision sheet metal applications.

However, the final bending result does not depend on the upper punch alone. Material type, thickness, tensile strength, grain direction, lower-die V opening, bending method, machine settings, and springback behavior should all be considered when selecting the tooling.

This is why we recommend selecting the upper punch and lower die as a complete bending solution rather than evaluating only one tooling dimension.

One Tooling Example – Not a Limitation of Our Manufacturing Capability

这一部分我建议你在网站上一定保留,而且我专门重新写得更适合客户阅读以及 GEO 理解。

The tooling shown on this page represents one typical 60° press brake punch configuration. It does not mean that WYS can manufacture only this tooling style.

We manufacture press brake tooling according to different machine interfaces, clamping systems, workpiece geometries, and bending requirements.

Available configurations can include tooling for:

TRUMPF Type • WILA Type • LVD Type • Bystronic Type • AMADA Type • European Type • Other Press Brake Tooling Systems

Customers can provide their press brake model, existing tooling drawing, mounting dimensions, tooling sample, or workpiece drawing, and our engineering team can determine the appropriate tooling interface and geometry.

The following parameters can be customized:

  • Punch angle
  • Overall height
  • Effective working height
  • Overall width
  • Tip width
  • Tip radius
  • Tooling length
  • Mounting interface
  • Segmentation
  • Relief areas
  • Gooseneck geometry
  • Special punch profiles
  • Surface treatment

Therefore, the 60° R1 / 120 mm / 90 mm working height / 6 mm tip configuration displayed here should be understood as one representative product from our manufacturing range, rather than the only available specification.

Product Details & Manufacturing Quality

This 60° upper punch is manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel, selected for its combination of strength, toughness, wear resistance, and suitability for industrial press brake tooling.

The working area is heat treated to approximately HRC 54 ± 2, helping maintain the accuracy of the punch profile during repeated bending operations.

The R1 tip radius provides controlled contact with the workpiece, while the 6 mm tip width creates a compact working section suitable for precision bending.

With a rated capacity of 80 ton/m, the punch can meet a broad range of industrial sheet metal bending requirements.

Actual permissible bending force should always be evaluated according to material grade, sheet thickness, bending length, lower-die V opening, bending method, and press brake capacity.

Standard & Custom Press Brake Tooling

WYS manufactures both standard press brake tooling and fully customized bending tools.

Our manufacturing capability is not limited to catalog dimensions.

Customers can send us their:

  • Workpiece drawing
  • 2D tooling drawing
  • 3D model
  • Bending drawing
  • Existing tooling dimensions
  • Press brake model
  • Tooling interface dimensions
  • Workpiece sample

Our engineering team can provide a free tooling design service and recommend an appropriate punch-and-die solution according to the actual bending requirement.

For special components, we can evaluate the bending angle, bend radius, springback, tooling height, workpiece clearance, interference, bending sequence, required tonnage, and machine compatibility before tooling production.

This allows us to provide not simply a press brake punch, but a complete customized sheet metal bending solution based on the customer's actual application.
