Description
The 85 Series B Station SQ14 Square Thick Turret Die is a precision lower tool developed for punching nominal 14 × 14 mm square holes. In the shape designation “SQ14,” “SQ” identifies the square profile and “14” represents the nominal side length of 14 mm.
Because this product is the lower die rather than a complete punch-and-die assembly, its actual opening is manufactured according to the required punch-to-die clearance. The finished die opening will normally be slightly larger than the corresponding punch profile. The correct clearance depends on the sheet material, thickness, tensile strength, burr requirements and punching conditions.
The square die is manufactured from DC53 tool steel and heat-treated to a working hardness of HRC 58–60. DC53 provides high compressive strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability, making it suitable for shaped punching applications where the corners of the die are subjected to concentrated stress.

SQ14 Size and Die Clearance
SQ14 identifies the nominal 14 × 14 mm punching profile. It should not automatically be interpreted as the final physical opening of the lower die.
