WYS 24° Bystronic-Type High-Reach Hemming Pre-Bending Punch, H195 R1

$160.00$168.00

This Bystronic-type high-reach punch is designed for the first pre-bending stage of sheet-metal hemming and is typically used for 1.2 mm sheet. It features a 195 mm overall height, 26 mm maximum width, 24° working angle, R1 tip radius and maximum load capacity of 100 ton/m. Its tall profile provides additional clearance for large panels and rising flanges before the final flattening operation.

Description

The WYS 24° Bystronic-type high-reach hemming punch is designed for the first pre-bending stage of a two-step sheet-metal hemming process. This configuration is typically used for processing 1.2 mm sheet metal when paired with a suitable lower die and flattening tool.

During the first operation, the 24° punch forms the sheet edge into a sharp acute angle. The pre-bent workpiece is then repositioned and compressed with the corresponding hemming or flattening tooling to produce the required closed or flattened edge.

Flat Sheet → 24° Pre-Bending → Repositioning → Flattening → Finished Hem

With an overall height of 195 mm, the punch provides increased vertical clearance for large panels, long flanges and rising workpieces. Its narrow working section also helps reduce interference during the initial bending operation.

Typical Applications

  • First-stage hemming pre-bending of 1.2 mm sheet
  • Closed-edge and safety-edge forming
  • Preparation for final edge flattening
  • Large panels with long or rising flanges
  • Electrical cabinets and control panels
  • Metal doors and machinery covers
  • Enclosures and sheet-metal housings
  • Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication

Tooling Selection

The stated 1.2 mm sheet thickness represents a typical application rather than an absolute limit. Actual compatibility depends on:

  • Material grade and tensile strength
  • Required finished hem
  • Lower-die geometry
  • Flattening clearance
  • Bending length
  • Material springback
  • Press brake capacity
  • Selected forming sequence

The corresponding lower die and flattening clearance should be designed according to the actual material and required finished edge.

Custom Press Brake Tooling

WYS can customize the punch angle, overall height, body width, working-section width, tip radius, mounting interface, tooling length and segmentation according to the customer’s hemming process and press brake configuration.

Customers can provide their finished-part drawings, material grade, sheet thickness, required hem geometry and machine specifications. Our engineering team will evaluate the first-stage angle, workpiece clearance, lower-die structure, flattening method and required force before recommending a complete pre-bending and hemming solution.

The stated 100 ton/m is the maximum rated load of the punch. The actual working force must remain within the permissible capacity of the punch, lower die, holder, clamping system and press brake.

This product is manufactured by WYS for compatible Bystronic-type tooling systems. WYS is an independent press brake tooling manufacturer, and no official affiliation with the referenced machine brand is implied.
