WYS 60° V50 Bystronic-Type Heavy-Duty Single-V Die, H120 mm
This Bystronic-type heavy-duty single-V lower die features a 50 mm V-opening, 60° groove angle, 120 mm overall height, 100 mm effective working height and 70 mm total width. Its wide V50 opening and 100 ton/m load capacity make it suitable for bending medium-to-thick sheet metal, producing larger inside bend radii and reducing the forming force required for heavy-duty applications.

Description
The WYS 60° V50 Bystronic-type single-V die is a wide-opening lower tool designed for medium-to-thick sheet-metal and plate-bending applications. It combines a 50 mm V-opening with a robust 70 mm-wide body, providing the support and stability required for demanding industrial forming operations.
With a 120 mm overall height and 100 mm effective working height, the die can be integrated into compatible Bystronic-type press brake setups requiring an elevated working surface. Its 60° groove angle provides sufficient forming space for air bending, acute-angle bending and applications requiring springback compensation.
Compared with narrower V6, V12 and V32 dies, the V50 opening generally requires less bending force for the same material thickness and produces a larger natural inside bend radius. It is therefore suitable for structural components and fabricated parts where strength, dimensional consistency and a larger formed radius are required.
The die has a maximum rated capacity of 100 ton/m. Manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel and precision-machined for consistent groove geometry, it provides reliable load transmission, stable positioning and repeatable bending performance.

Typical Applications
- Air bending of medium-to-thick sheet metal
- Heavy-duty plate-bending operations
- Forming components requiring a larger inside bend radius
- Producing structural profiles, brackets and machine components
- Bending mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum plate
- Fabricating industrial cabinets, frames and large enclosures
- Acute-angle forming and material springback compensation
- Low-force bending applications using a wider V-opening
- General industrial metal fabrication and CNC bending
- Use on compatible Bystronic-type hydraulic, CNC and servo-electric press brakes
The appropriate sheet thickness must be determined according to the material tensile strength, bending length, punch radius, required inside radius, minimum flange dimension and forming method. The calculated bending force must remain within the rated 100 ton/m capacity of both the upper and lower tools.
Product Details / Manufacturing Quality
The V50 opening provides considerably more forming space than the narrower V6, V12 and V32 dies in this product series. For the same sheet thickness, a wider V-opening typically reduces the required press force and produces a larger natural inside radius.
Because a V50 die requires a larger minimum flange than a narrow V-die, it is best suited to medium and large components with sufficient flange dimensions. Selecting the correct V-opening helps balance bending force, internal radius, flange length and finished-part accuracy.
The 70 mm-wide body provides structural support around the large V-opening and helps distribute the forming load through the lower tool. Its 100 ton/m load capacity makes it suitable for demanding production within the specified force limit.
The 60° groove provides additional space for forming angles below 90° when used with a suitable upper punch. It can also support overbending operations used to compensate for material springback.
Manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel, the die offers high strength, toughness and resistance to deformation. Precision machining and controlled heat treatment help maintain accurate groove geometry, stable tool alignment and consistent results over long production runs.
Standard & Custom Press Brake Tooling
WYS manufactures standard and custom single-V dies, multi-V dies, heavy-duty lower dies, straight punches, gooseneck punches, radius tools, hemming tools, adapters and special forming tools for different press brake systems.
The V-opening, groove angle, overall height, effective height, total width and mounting profile can be manufactured according to customer requirements. Optional black oxide treatment, special surface coatings, continuous lengths and segmented tooling sets are also available.
WYS provides a free press brake tooling design service. Customers can send us their finished-part drawings, material grade, sheet thickness, bending length, required angle and press brake specifications. Our engineering team will evaluate the V-opening, minimum flange, inside radius, bending force and forming sequence before recommending a suitable tooling solution.
This product is manufactured by WYS for compatible Bystronic-type tooling and clamping systems. WYS is an independent press brake tooling manufacturer, and no official affiliation with the referenced machine brand is implied.
