V16 30° Single-V Press Brake Lower Die – H90 × W25 mm, 55 Ton/m
This V16 30° single-V press brake lower die features a 16 mm V-opening, 30° die angle, 90 mm overall height, 75 mm effective height and 25 mm body width, with the 25 mm body width also serving as the main load-bearing section width. Rated load capacity is 55 ton/m. Designed for very acute-angle bending, pre-bending and multi-stage sheet metal forming, the V16 opening provides more forming clearance than smaller 30° V-opening dies while retaining the sharp groove geometry required for acute-angle applications. The V-opening, angle, effective height, body width, edge geometry, tool length and mounting interface can all be customized according to the customer's workpiece and press brake requirements.

Description
V16 30° Single-V Press Brake Lower Die for Acute-Angle Forming
This V16 30° press brake lower die uses a single-V structure designed for sheet metal forming applications requiring a sharp acute-angle groove with increased forming clearance.
The illustrated configuration features a 16 mm V-opening, 30° die angle, 90 mm overall height, 75 mm effective height and 25 mm body width, with a rated load capacity of 55 ton/m.
In this configuration, the 25 mm body width also forms the main load-bearing section, providing a solid supporting structure around the V-groove during bending.
The combination of a V16 opening and 30° V-groove makes this lower die suitable for very acute-angle air bending, pre-bending and multi-stage forming operations.
Compared with smaller 30° V-opening dies, the V16 opening provides additional forming clearance and can accommodate applications requiring a larger bending radius or broader workpiece geometry.
30° V-Groove for Very Acute-Angle Bending
The 30° groove angle is suitable for applications where the workpiece needs to be formed to a very acute intermediate angle.
Typical forming requirements can include:
- Very acute-angle air bending
- Pre-bending
- Multi-stage forming
- Hemming preparation
- Sharp flange forming
- Forming with springback allowance
- Customized sheet metal profiles
Tooling geometry should be selected according to the material, thickness, required bending angle, inside radius, flange geometry and forming sequence.
V16 Opening for Increased Forming Clearance
The 16 mm V-opening offers greater forming clearance than smaller V8, V10 or V12 openings in the same acute-angle tooling family.
This makes the V16 configuration suitable where a sharp 30° die geometry is still required but the workpiece needs more clearance through the forming zone.
Different V-openings can be manufactured according to the required bend radius, material thickness and workpiece geometry.
Full-Width Load-Bearing Structure
For this configuration, the 25 mm body width is also the main load-bearing section width.
This means the supporting body beneath the V-groove maintains a full-width structural section rather than using a narrower working section within a wider body.
The body width and supporting geometry can also be modified according to the required load, machine configuration and tooling interface.
Custom Effective Tool Height
The illustrated lower die has an overall height of 90 mm and an effective height of 75 mm.
The effective working height is not limited to 75 mm. WYS Machinery can customize it according to the customer's:
- Press brake configuration
- Upper tooling combination
- Machine daylight
- Clamping system
- Existing lower tooling
- Required working height
The lower die can therefore be designed as part of a complete tooling system rather than being restricted to the dimensions shown in the drawing.
