Description
V6 / V10 85° Double-V Press Brake Lower Die
This double-V press brake lower die, also referred to as a 2V lower die, combines V6 and V10 openings within one tooling body.
Both V-grooves are manufactured at an 85° die angle and are arranged side by side on the same working surface.
The illustrated configuration has an overall height of 46 mm, an overall width of 50 mm, and a rated load capacity of 80 ton/m.
The V6 and V10 openings provide two different lower-die options within one compact tool. The V6 groove offers a smaller forming opening for applications requiring tighter bend geometry, while the V10 groove provides additional forming clearance for different sheet thicknesses and bend-radius requirements.
Because both grooves are relatively compact, they can be positioned on the same upper working surface while maintaining practical groove spacing and sufficient supporting material around each V-opening.
The illustrated version uses a plug-in mounting system.
The V6 / V10 dimensions shown here represent one available configuration rather than a fixed manufacturing limitation. V-opening combinations, die angles, overall height, width, load capacity, tooling length, segmentation and mounting profiles can all be customized according to customer requirements.

Same-Surface Double-V Configuration
The V6 and V10 grooves are arranged side by side on the same working surface.
This type of double-V configuration is practical when:
- Both V-openings are relatively compact
- Adequate shoulder material can be maintained
- Sufficient spacing is available between the grooves
- A compact tooling body is preferred
- Two commonly used V-opening sizes are required within one lower die
Compared with a two-face double-V structure, this arrangement keeps both V-grooves on the same upper working plane.
For larger or widely different V-opening combinations, WYS Machinery can also manufacture two-face double-V lower dies with the grooves positioned on separate working faces.
V6 and V10 Working Openings
The V6 opening provides a smaller forming width for precision sheet metal bending applications requiring relatively small V-die openings.
The V10 opening provides additional forming clearance and can be selected when a larger V-opening is more appropriate for the sheet thickness, required bend radius or bending process.
Integrating both openings into one lower die provides practical flexibility for production involving different:
- Sheet thicknesses
- Material grades
- Bend radii
- Part geometries
- Production batches
The final V-opening should always be selected according to the actual workpiece and bending conditions.
Typical Applications
This V6 / V10 double-V lower die is suitable for:
- Precision sheet metal bending
- General thin-sheet fabrication
- Electrical enclosure production
- Control cabinet manufacturing
- Machinery covers and housings
- Precision brackets
- Stainless steel sheet bending
- Carbon steel sheet bending
- Small and medium sheet metal components
- Mixed-production bending
- Applications requiring two compact V-opening sizes
Why Use Two V-Grooves on the Same Working Surface?
When two V-openings are relatively small and compatible in size, both grooves can be positioned next to each other without requiring a larger multi-face die structure.
This arrangement provides several practical advantages:
- Two V-opening options within one tooling body
- Compact die dimensions
- Efficient use of the upper working surface
- Reduced need for separate single-V lower dies
- Convenient tooling selection for different bending jobs
When V-openings become substantially larger or require more shoulder space, WYS Machinery can manufacture alternative two-face configurations.
Plug-In Lower Die Mounting System
The illustrated lower die uses a plug-in mounting system.
The bottom profile engages with the corresponding lower die holder or press brake table interface to provide positioning and support during bending.
The plug-in geometry shown here is one reference configuration only.
WYS Machinery can customize:
- Bottom mounting profile
- Plug-in dimensions
- Positioning geometry
- Overall die cross-section
- Tool length
- Segmentation
- Centered or offset mounting arrangements
according to the customer's existing press brake and tooling system.
Custom Double-V Press Brake Dies
WYS Machinery manufactures both standard and customized double-V press brake lower dies.
The V6 / V10 configuration shown here is one manufactured example rather than a fixed product limitation.
Customers can customize:
V-opening combination, V-groove angle, overall height, overall width, groove spacing, shoulder geometry, load capacity, tool length, segmented length, bottom profile and mounting interface.
For special applications, customers can provide workpiece drawings, sheet thickness, material grade, required bending angle, V-opening requirements, existing tooling drawings or samples, and press brake information.
Our engineering team can evaluate the bending requirement and recommend a suitable lower die configuration.
Compatible Press Brake Tooling Systems
WYS Machinery manufactures lower dies for different press brake tooling standards and machine configurations.
Available configurations include:
AMADA / Promecam Type, TRUMPF Type, WILA Type, LVD Type, Bystronic Type, European Type and other customized press brake tooling systems.
The V6 / V10 plug-in structure shown on this page represents one reference design only.
