The American Style upper mounting profile features a 12.7 mm tang and transfers the bending force through the tool shoulders. This shoulder-loaded design provides stable seating in a compatible clamping system and helps transmit high forming loads through the reinforced tool body.
An 88° working angle makes the punch suitable for common air-bending operations, while the R1.5 mm tip provides a practical balance between bend-line control and resistance to localized stress. The body profile also offers limited clearance for previously formed flanges and complex workpiece shapes.

The 88° punch angle provides room to compensate for material springback when forming approximately 90° finished bends. The actual result depends on the material grade, thickness, lower-die V-opening and press brake settings.
Although the punch is rated for a maximum load of 160 ton/m, the complete tooling system must be checked before production. The required bending force must remain within the rated capacities of the upper punch, lower die, clamping system and press brake.

The wide, reinforced body provides the cross-sectional strength required for heavy-duty bending. Its shoulder-loaded configuration transfers forming force through the upper shoulders rather than relying only on the 12.7 mm tang.
The punch is manufactured from selected 42CrMo alloy steel, providing a reliable combination of strength, toughness and fatigue resistance. Its working area is hardened to HRC54±2 to help resist tip wear, indentation and deformation under repeated loading.
Precision machining maintains the 88° tip angle, R1.5 mm radius and mounting geometry throughout the tool length. Accurate shoulder and tang dimensions support stable installation, consistent tool alignment and repeatable bending results.
The punch can be supplied in continuous lengths for long straight bends or as a segmented set for boxes, panels and workpieces with interfering side flanges.
