Description
This WILA Type heavy-duty gooseneck punch combines a high load capacity with a recessed clearance profile. Rated at up to 130 ton/m, it is designed for thick plate bending and demanding applications that require greater strength than a conventional gooseneck punch.
The 80° working angle provides additional allowance for material springback and supports acute or near-right-angle forming when paired with a suitable lower die. Its R6 mm tip distributes forming pressure over a broader contact area than a small-radius punch, making it better suited to thicker materials and components requiring a larger inside bend radius.
With a working height of 163 mm, the punch provides useful reach for deep workpieces. Its gooseneck profile offers clearance around previously formed flanges and raised edges, although the available clearance should always be checked against the actual component drawing and bending sequence.
The tool uses a top load-bearing structure and is manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel. Its working area is hardened to HRC54±2 for dependable resistance to wear, deformation and repeated high-load operation.

The R6 punch tip is particularly suitable when the workpiece requires a larger inside radius or when a small-radius tip would create excessive localized pressure. However, the finished inside radius also depends on the lower-die V-opening, material properties and forming method.
The actual permissible plate thickness and bending length must be calculated according to material tensile strength, lower-die opening and machine capacity. The required force must remain within the rated capacities of the punch, lower die, clamping system and press brake.
Product Details & Manufacturing Quality
The punch has a reinforced cross-section designed to transmit higher forming loads while retaining practical flange clearance. Compared with a conventional narrow gooseneck punch, its wider body and R6 tip provide greater structural strength for heavy-duty bending.
Selected 42CrMo alloy steel provides the toughness and fatigue resistance required for repeated loading. The working area is hardened to HRC54±2 to improve resistance to wear, indentation and dimensional change.
Precision machining maintains the 80° tip angle, R6 radius and gooseneck profile throughout the tool length. Accurate geometry supports reliable punch-to-die alignment and consistent results across continuous or segmented sections.
