Description

6-Groove V32 / V48 / V64 / V80 / V100 / V160 Multi-V Press Brake Lower Die

This multi-V press brake lower die integrates six independent working V-grooves into a robust 200 × 200 mm tooling body.

The illustrated configuration includes:

V32 · V48 · V64 · V80 · V100 · V160

Each physical groove provides a different V-opening size, allowing one lower tooling body to cover several medium, large and very large forming ranges.

The illustrated die has an overall cross-section of 200 × 200 mm and a rated load capacity of 100 ton/m.

The V32 and V48 openings provide the smaller forming ranges within this large-body configuration. V64 and V80 provide increased forming clearance, while V100 extends the tooling range further toward large V-opening bending. The V160 groove is the largest working opening in the illustrated design.

The drawing specifically identifies the V160 groove with an 85° die angle and an R14 bottom radius. Other illustrated groove sections also use different radius geometries, including R6 and R8, demonstrating that groove-bottom radius can be customized together with V-opening size and position.

The configuration shown here represents one available manufacturing example rather than a fixed catalog limitation. WYS Machinery can customize the number of V-grooves, V-opening dimensions, groove angles, positions, V-bottom radii, overall dimensions and mounting structures according to the customer's actual bending requirements.

6-Groove Large-Opening Multi-V Structure

The defining feature of this product is its six-groove large-opening multi-V configuration.

The tooling integrates:

V32 → V48 → V64 → V80 → V100 → V160

within one 200 × 200 mm lower-die body.

Unlike high-groove-count multi-V dies that integrate numerous small and medium V-openings, this structure uses a relatively small number of grooves so that more die-body space can be allocated to larger working openings.

This design illustrates an important principle of multi-V tooling:

The optimum groove count depends on the required V-opening range and production requirements, not simply on maximizing the number of grooves.

V32 to V160 Working Range

The six working openings cover a broad large-die range.

V32 and V48

These openings provide the smaller forming ranges within this 200 × 200 mm configuration and can support applications requiring relatively moderate V-opening widths.

V64 and V80

These larger openings provide greater forming clearance and support workpieces requiring larger natural inside bend radii.

V100

The V100 groove extends the tooling range into substantially larger forming widths.

V160

The V160 opening is the largest working groove in this illustrated configuration.

It provides very wide forming clearance and is shown with:

85° groove geometry + R14 bottom radius

The appropriate V-opening should always be selected according to:

  • Sheet thickness
  • Material grade
  • Tensile strength
  • Required inside bend radius
  • Bend angle
  • Flange geometry
  • Required forming force
  • Bending method

V160 85° Large Working Groove

The drawing specifically identifies the V160 working groove with an 85° angle.

This large V-opening provides substantial forming clearance while maintaining conventional 85° lower-die geometry.

Its integration into the same tooling body as V32, V48, V64, V80 and V100 demonstrates how a large multi-V die can combine several distinct forming ranges without requiring a separate lower tool for each opening.

The illustrated V160 groove also uses an R14 V-bottom radius.

Different V-Bottom Radii Within One Die

Another important characteristic of this product is the use of different radius geometries.

The drawing identifies:

R14
R8
R6

at different working sections.

This demonstrates that a multi-V lower die can be customized not only by opening width but also by its complete groove geometry.

Depending on the forming process, WYS Machinery can customize:

  • V-bottom radius
  • Shoulder radius
  • Groove angle
  • Groove depth
  • V-opening size
  • Groove position

Different working faces can therefore use different geometries within the same multi-V tooling body.

Same 200 × 200 mm Body, Different Multi-V Configurations

The external dimensions of a multi-V die do not define one fixed working structure.

Different 200 × 200 mm multi-V lower dies can be manufactured with completely different:

  • Groove counts
  • V-opening combinations
  • Groove positions
  • Groove angles
  • V-bottom radii
  • Working-face arrangements
  • Shoulder geometry

The V32 / V48 / V64 / V80 / V100 / V160 configuration shown here represents one possible design.

Another 200 × 200 mm die can use a completely different V-opening strategy according to the customer's workpiece range.

Advantages of This 6-Groove Design

Six Different Large Forming Ranges

Every working groove provides a different V-opening size.

V32 to V160 Coverage

The configuration covers medium-to-very-large forming openings within one tooling body.

Reduced Large-Die Inventory

Multiple large V-opening functions can be integrated into one lower die rather than requiring numerous separate large single-V tools.

Robust Tooling Structure

The relatively low groove count allows substantial die-body material to remain around the large working openings.

Custom Groove Geometry

V-opening size, angle, position and bottom radius can all be engineered according to actual production requirements.

Typical Applications

This 200 × 200 mm multi-V lower die is suitable for:

  • Medium and thicker sheet bending
  • Large-radius bending
  • Carbon steel bending
  • Stainless steel bending
  • Structural sheet metal fabrication
  • Machinery and heavy equipment components
  • Large industrial sheet metal parts
  • Heavy enclosure fabrication
  • Applications requiring V32 to V160 forming ranges
  • Mixed production involving several large V-openings
  • Workshops seeking to reduce separate large lower-die inventory
