Description
The 85 Series C Station SQ24 Square Thick Turret Tooling Set is engineered for accurate and repeatable punching of nominal 24 × 24 mm square holes on compatible CNC thick turret punch presses.
In the designation “SQ24,” “SQ” identifies the square punching profile and “24” represents the nominal 24 mm side length. The tool is larger than the previously introduced A Station SQ7 tooling and B Station SQ14 die, providing a dedicated C Station solution for medium-size square openings.
This product is supplied as a complete matched tooling set rather than an individual replacement component. It consists of the upper punch assembly and the corresponding lower die required for punching operation.
The punch is manufactured from M2 high-speed steel, while the matching lower die is manufactured from DC53 tool steel. The working components are heat-treated to HRC 58–60 to provide cutting-edge hardness, toughness, compressive strength and dimensional stability.
Square punches concentrate greater stress at their four corners than round tools. Accurate corner geometry, consistent punch-to-die alignment and suitable cutting clearance are therefore essential for maintaining hole accuracy and preventing premature chipping.

SQ24 identifies the nominal 24 × 24 mm punching profile. It does not mean that the lower-die opening is manufactured to exactly 24 × 24 mm.

The four corners should be inspected regularly. Regrinding is recommended before excessive corner rounding, chipping or burr growth develops.
