Description
This A Station half-shear locating tool partially shears the sheet thickness without fully punching through the material, displacing the local material to form a solid raised locating feature while keeping it attached to the workpiece.
The formed projection can engage with a corresponding round or slotted hole in another sheet metal part, providing reliable pre-positioning for assembly, welding and subsequent fastening. It can also be used as a physical reference point, locating stop or orientation feature.
Upward or downward forming configurations can be manufactured according to customer requirements. WYS Machinery also provides thick turret and thin turret tooling in A, B, C, D and E station sizes, as well as TRUMPF and Murata Wiedemann type structures.
