Description

The WYS Machinery D Station Thick Turret Louver Forming Tool is a special sheet metal forming tool developed for producing raised ventilation louvers directly on compatible CNC turret punch presses.

Unlike an ordinary piercing tool that only cuts and removes material, a louver tool combines controlled cutting and forming. During the machine stroke, the cutting section creates the required slit while the matching forming profiles progressively displace the sheet to produce a raised louver opening.

The resulting louver allows air to pass through the sheet while helping reduce direct entry of water, dust or foreign objects, depending on the finished-part design and installation direction.

The tool shown in the photographs is a complete D Station thick turret assembly consisting of:
