Description
The WYS Machinery B Station Thick Turret Lance and Form Tool is a special punch press forming tool developed to cut and form a raised tab while keeping one section of the tab connected to the original sheet.
In sheet metal terminology, this process is known as lance and form. “Lance” refers to cutting selected sides of the profile without completely separating a conventional slug, while “form” refers to displacing or bending the connected material into the required three-dimensional shape.
Unlike an ordinary piercing punch, which removes a complete piece of material, the lance and form process retains the formed tab as an integrated part of the workpiece.
