Description
V8 / V12 85° Double-V Press Brake Lower Die
This double-V press brake lower die combines V8 and V12 openings in one compact die body, providing two commonly used V-groove sizes for general sheet metal bending applications.
Both V-openings are manufactured at an 85° die angle. The illustrated configuration has an overall width of 50 mm, an overall height of 26 mm, and a rated load capacity of 80 ton/m.
The V8 / V12 combination is a practical choice for many sheet metal fabrication environments because it allows two frequently used lower-die openings to be integrated into a single tool. This can reduce the need to prepare separate single-V dies when production includes different sheet thicknesses, required bend radii or component specifications.
The illustrated version uses a plug-in mounting system, providing a defined interface with the corresponding lower die holder or press brake table system.
The V8 / V12 configuration shown here is one available example. Other V-opening combinations, die angles, body dimensions, load capacities and mounting structures can be manufactured according to customer requirements.

Common V8 / V12 Double-V Configuration
The V8 / V12 combination is frequently used because both V-opening sizes are suitable for a wide range of general sheet metal bending applications.
Using these two V-grooves within one lower die can provide practical flexibility when production includes:
- Different sheet thicknesses
- Different required inside bend radii
- Different material grades
- Mixed production batches
- Frequent changes between smaller and larger V-openings
The actual V-opening should always be selected according to the workpiece material, sheet thickness, bending method, desired inside radius and forming force.
Typical Applications
This V8 / V12 double-V press brake die is suitable for:
- General sheet metal bending
- Thin and medium sheet fabrication
- Electrical enclosure production
- Metal cabinet manufacturing
- Machine cover fabrication
- Equipment housing production
- Stainless steel sheet bending
- Carbon steel sheet bending
- Mixed-batch sheet metal production
- Precision fabrication requiring two commonly used V-openings
The appropriate V-opening should be selected according to the actual bending application.
Plug-In Lower Die System
The illustrated die uses a plug-in lower die mounting structure.
This configuration allows the lower die to engage with a corresponding die holder or press brake table interface while maintaining accurate positioning during bending.
The plug-in structure shown in the drawing is only one reference configuration.
WYS Machinery can customize the lower mounting interface according to:
- Press brake model
- Existing lower die holder
- Tooling drawing
- Existing tooling sample
- Required machine standard
The bottom profile and complete cross-section can therefore be adapted to different press brake systems.
Custom Double-V Press Brake Dies
WYS Machinery manufactures both standard and customized double-V press brake lower dies.
The V8 / V12 configuration shown on this page is one example rather than a fixed manufacturing limitation.
Customers can customize:
V-opening combination, die angle, overall height, overall width, shoulder geometry, load capacity, tool length, segmented length, bottom mounting profile and positioning structure.
For non-standard applications, customers can provide:
- Workpiece drawings
- Material grade
- Sheet thickness
- Required bending angle
- Existing tooling drawings
- Press brake model
Our engineering team can then evaluate the application and recommend a suitable lower die configuration.
Compatible Press Brake Tooling Systems
WYS Machinery can manufacture double-V and multi-V lower dies for different press brake tooling standards.
Available configurations include:
AMADA / Promecam Type, TRUMPF Type, WILA Type, LVD Type, Bystronic Type, European Type and other customized press brake tooling systems.
The plug-in mounting profile shown in this drawing is only one reference configuration.
Different mounting geometries can be manufactured according to the customer's existing machine and tooling interface.
Standard & Custom Lower Die Solutions
WYS Machinery manufactures a broad range of press brake lower dies, including:
Single-V Dies · Double-V Dies · Multi-V Dies · Acute-Angle Dies · Wide-Opening Dies · High-Tonnage Dies · Segmented Dies · Special Lower Dies · Custom Press Brake Tooling
